Length: 352 pages

"When she wakes up in unfamiliar surroundings, Skye knows something terrible has happened to her. But it's not until she hears Asher, the dark, rebellious angel she fell in love with, that the memories come flooding back. She tries to put the past behind her, but she knows she'll be forever haunted by the ruthless betrayal that almost took her life.

Skye returns home, but with the knowledge of who she really is, nothing can ever be the same. As she tests the limits of her newfound powers, Skye discovers that she's capable of far more than anyone could have imagined. Both the Order and the Rebellion want her for their side as war between the factions looms. She can't forget the terrifying truth she now knows about the Order, but something holds her back from embracing the Rebellion.

A Fractured Light picks up right after A Beautiful Dark's shocking cliffhanger ending and is perfect for fans of Lauren Kate's Fallen and Becca Fitzpatrick's Hush, Hush saga."

Review:

Characters: Skye begins to open up to her inner self in this exciting sequel to A Beautiful Dark. From the very first page, Skye's control over her powers has progressed almost miraculously. She begins to harness her dark powers and take control of them. However, she's not completely a Rebel angel, and her light powers begin to emerge as well. She soon finds herself caught in the middle, with a choice that she had thought she already made. What side will she choose? The Rebels who want to use her as a weapon to destroy the Order, or the Order who have taken away not only her parents, but almost her very life.

Romance: You would think that after Devin stabbed Skye that she would be over him and hate him? You're wrong. Since this is a very dramatic series, and since Devin had no control over his actions, Skye begins to warm up to him again. Even though she has already chosen Asher who she's head over heels for, and who makes her starts fires with the merest of touches, she finds herself drawn to Devin who she always feels so comfortable around. I have to say I was impressed with how Ms. Davies approached the romance and love triangle in this installment. It seemed very natural and had some very unpredictable moments.

Predictability: There were times when I felt like I knew how something would unfold and I was right, yet most of the time I had moments of shock and awe at the big twist or the slight navigational turn. I love how the story would take a turn somewhere unexpected and give you moments of jaw-dropping goodness. I was also excited to see Skye's visions develop and for you to see some foreshadowing through her visions. I can't wait to see how some of them unfold.

Ending: Now for the last paragraph or two I felt like the ending was kind of plateaued, however the last chapter or two caught me completely off guard. I was yelling at the book, I was staring open mouthed at it. I couldn't even come close to believing some of the things that were happening. Also, just a brief side note, I did feel like it came too fast, like it seemed a little rushed and that it didn't quite end I felt like there should have been one more chapter or an "epilogue" of sorts. Anyway, I still loved the events that occurred in the ending and am still left wondering on a few insane details presented.

Overall, I'm giving this a 4.5 out of 5 stars. Even though I loved the book, there were a few things that irked me and so I had to take away half a star, but that should in no way effect you going out and buying this book as soon as it's out.

P.S. I'm sorry that this is up a day late, I had to help out with a college camp for an amazing program called The Story Project and since I was gone through Wednesday I was unable to be in internet contact, and when I got home I had a massive headache and slept through the day. Anyway, I hope you'll forgive me for this being late and not posting a link to my review of A Beautiful Dark on my Twitter (@FlyeZachary93). 1. I'm 1/2 way through this book. I have not been a huge fan. I thought I would like this series more, but it's just not grabbing me. I've been 1/2 way through for almost two months!
