My favorite non-spoiler part in Under the Never Sky had to be the entire concept of the Aether storm. I've never heard about it before and thought about it before. Oooh and I think that you should definitely review The Fault in Our Stars by John Green :D
YESSSS :) I still need to read it. It's sitting on my shelf but because November is the month from hell for college I haven't gotten the chance to read it. Hopefully I read it before you review it! In any event, I'll be sure to read your thoughts! :D
Hmmm...I gotta say meeting Roar is my favorite part; that's where the action really started to pick up. Forbidden Mind by Kimberly Kinrade blew my mind so i'm curious if it will do the same to yours if you get a chance to read it ^.^
I am a new Google follower and I desperately want to enter this contest but only have internet through my phone....and it won't load the raffle copter :-( what can i do?
Oh no! I didn't think about people only having internet through their phones. Could you try going to your local library and use a computer there, or maybe a friend would let you use their computer for a bit.
Hard to pick a favorite part without spoilers but I loved the concept of the Senses. I would totally recommend Soul Screamers series by Rachel Vincent or The Blue Bloods series by Melissa de la Cruz. Both are awesome series. =)
What I love most about this genre of YA novels is that these characters are still human, still PEOPLE, despite all the mind-blowing, horrific, majorly life-changing things that occur to and around them. They have similar thoughts, feelings and reactions as the rest of us even though everything they know to be true has been upended. It's the core basics that we all have inside that bind us together and get us through. I loved Under the Never Sky and can't wait for the next two!
Favorite part: Well, not really a part but I liked how Aria and Perry weren't instantly in love the moment they first met. It took a while for them to warm up to each other. Book to review: The Demon Trapper's Daughter by Jana Oliver
Hi Zach, My favorite (non-spoilery) part of Under the Never Sky is the suporting cast of characters. They're full and vibrant and make the plot so much more interesting. I love when a book gets me invested in all the characters and not just the main ones. Book to review: Angelfall by Susan Ee - would love to hear a guy's take on the book :D
Thanks for hosting this giveaway! Under the Never Sky was one of my favorite books of 2012. I really enjoyed how Rossi developed Perry and Aria's characters.
Check out my review: http://apocalypsereads.blogspot.com/2012/02/mole-meets-savage-under-never-sky-by.html
My favorite non-spoiler part of Under the Never Sky would be the creation of Audiles, Scires, and Seers. Also the Aether. Book to review: Easy by Tammara Webber
My favorite part was... (It's been awhile since I've read it so I may be wrong) when they were on their journey together. So amazing! Book to review: Stormdancer- I'm undecided about reading it.
I love how Perry thought she had a weird smell. lol.
I highly recommend anything by Ilsa Bick. ASHES is a terrifying suspense and DROWNING INSTINCT is a dark and gritty contemporary. Either of those are great.
And if you haven't read BETWEEN SHADES OF GREY, that's another great. It's based off of actual events and will really pull at your heartstrings.
Loved Under the Never Sky---it will be one of my top books of 2012---and can't wait to read Through the Ever Night. Veronica Rossi is a fine writer, isn't she?
I wrote my comment before reading the rafflecopter instructions ;-)
My favorite nonspoiler part? Not a part so much as the relationships that develop among the various characters and the strong loyalties. As for a book you might want to review, how about Incarnate by Jodi Meadows or Through to You by Emily Hainsworth?
I'm actually going to be doing a review of Incarnate soon, and I have Asunder, book 2, to review and give away, so be sure to come back for that. I had a chance to get an ARC of Through to You, but had to turn it down because it wouldn't fit into my schedule back then.
My favorite aspect of Under The Never Sky is how the advanced technology seems so far from the harshness of the outside world. The pod population is afraid of the outsiders, and I can imagine the outsiders in Perry's village are scared of the pod people. There's a whole lot of unknown and mystery surrounding both groups and I'm excited to see how the story continues!
I think you should review The Age of Miracles by Karen Thompson Walker - it's not a YA novel, but it's from the point of view of a young girl in a dying world and it was a fabulous story about a very realistic downfall of earth.
Oooookay, this is a rough one! I literally loved every part of this book!I mean, it was my number one pick for 2012 (and I have read over 100 books this year) Buuuut, if I had to chose, I would pick the the developing acceptance between the two. The gaining trust and love that unfolds. Gahh! I loved it all! lol
My favorite part includes any scene that has perry in it. Seriously, he's sweet and open and a far cry from the jerks you usually find reading a YA novel.
Bah, I forgot to mention a book that could be reviewed. I don't read much YA anymore but Legend by Marie Lu wasn't such a bad book. A book I would record to anyone would be A Game of Thrones. They're soooo long, but sooo good
I haven't read Incarnate yet so I can't really say but I can say I love books that focus on reincarnation. Have you reviewed The Eternal Ones? It's also about reincarnation and I love it!
I enjoyed Incarnate. It had a few slow moments but all in all the main character eventually developed into something more, which is a good thing. To say more could be spoilerish.
I don't want to be all self-promoting so instead I would like to suggest Givin' Up the Ghost by author Gwen Gardner. It is a YA cozy mystery with paranormal elements infused throughout. It would make for a very nice read and review.
I haven't read Incarnate but I do have it to read. Figured I waited this long why not just read the books back to back. I hear it is great though.
As for a recommend if you haven't read it yet then I highly suggest either The Immortal Rules or Shatter Me. Ooo or Grave Mercy cause that book just kicked all sorts of butt.
I loved Puck and Grim. Everything and anything they did. Although Grim was a bit annoying at times with his disappearing act. And I'm still trying to figure out why he would always says b/c he's a cat! Thanks for the giiveaway!
I've yet to read Incarnate, but I'm going to very soon, hopefully. You really have to read the Otori series by Liam Hearn.. One of the best fantasy books I've read.
I have this series on my TBR list so would love to win. My friends read and recommended to me! I would love if you read and reviewed The Moon Dwellers by David Estes! Incredible series!
I cannot tell if I am entering these contests correctly. I click to enter by email and it recognizes me but it says to unlock 7 more entries by finishing this entry. However, I don't see a submit button or anything. I can't tell if I have completed the first entry.
Sorry if it's a bit confusing, the first entry is to follow via Google friend connect, so in the side bar hit the button that says join this site and complete that. Then hit the Follow via Google friend Connect, enter the name that you follow me under and then click Enter! Then the additional entries will be unlocked. I hope that helped.
Thank you for the information. I didn't realize I had to join google connect. I think I have it now! I am enjoying the blog so far. You should do some reviews on the Maze Runner series if you haven't already. They are AMAZING!
I can't say what was my favourite aspect of the series, since I've read just book one for the moment; what I can say is that, honestly, The Iron King didn't caught me much - I mean, I'd heard so many great things about it but when I started reading it I felt a little disappointed! Nevertheless, everyone said that the series gets better and I'm really curious to know what will happen then.
Maybe read Looking for Alaska by John Green and compare it to Catcher in the Rye? Favorite non-spoilery part in a book ever is the distribution of "supplies" in Beauty Queens by Libba Bray.
I love the Iron Fey series. My favorite part, which isn't even a part of the story, but my favorite part anyway was when I picked up The Iron Knight, and on the dedication page it said "Team Ash, this one is for you." :) It made me feel very good about the story from the get go!
Thanks for the giveaway! I haven't read this series yet although I really want to. One of my favorite series is The Demon Trappers series by Jana Oliver :)
I think my favorite aspect of the Iron Fey series are the characters, I also love the fact that the author create another Court, which is very pertinent ! I recommend you to review the Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout, which are my favorite books of 2012 :D ! Thanks for the giveaway !
Honestly, I've not gotten to read these books yet but the whole idea intrigues me and I have been wanting this boxed set since I found out it came in a boxed set. lol One of my favorite series is I Am Just Junco Dot Com by J.A. Huss. It was my favorite of 2012. :)
At first I didn't like Ash so much! I was Team Puck for all of the first 3 books. My favorite book is #2! I recommend Feed by Mira Grant! Zombies! (Ileana A.-rafflecopter)
I haven't started the Iron Fey series although I did read The Lost Prince, Ethan's debut read. It was so damn good. I would recommend The Forest of Hands and Teeth by Carrie Ryan, Nightshade by Andrea Cremer, and Divergent by Veronica Roth. Thank you for the giveaway hon. This is awesome :)
I really liked how Julie Kagawa incorporated and gave life to fictional characters which were originally from other fairytales. I'd like to give examples but I don't want to spoil everyone who hasn't read the series. And also, Ash is the best thing ever.
I'd recommend Angelfall by Susan Ee. Thanks so much! I'm your 150th follower btw. hehe
The Iron Fey of course! I just thought it was brilliant idea.
I recently read 'Starflower' by Anne Elisabeth Stengl and that was surprisingly good! It's the 4th in the series but it's also a prequel to the other books so it's okay to read separately! :)
I love Eddie. He's such a solid character. I love how Richelle really turned his character upside down in VA and gave him the chance to become a more major character in both series.
Probably Abe. He's just such a fun character and I can never quite tell whether he honestly cares or if he's just doing whatever it is he's doing for fun/his own personal gain!
Adrian Ivashov!!! He is always my favorite. I also love Eddie! Such a loyal and sweet Guardian. He takes great care of Jill and helped Rose so much! Mason was great in VA too! Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
I haven't the series yet so I can't really answer your question. But it's on my TBR list and I'll try to read it within this year since I feel like I'm sooo behind from everyone.
I haven't been able to follow via GFC I keep getting a 404 error when I try, so I have signed up via email, I hope that's ok, if not please remove one of my entries.
I cant pick a secondary character from the Vampire Academy/bloodlines series I like most, I personally like most of the characters. I do have a soft spot for Adrian though, no-one really 'gets' him... until Sydney that is.
Hi Zach, awesome giveaway this is :D Um..my favorite character is Abe. He is such a complex and cool character. I really like it when he's around. But my favorite character all over is ADRIAN. Oh, how I loves him!! <3
my favorite side/secondary character in the vampire academy series is christian! he's so badass , sarcastic and witty. i like people who can continuously make me laugh and that's what he did. he acts all tough and like he doesn't care about anything but deep down he really is such a nice sweet guy who just wants to be accepted by the other moroi who judge him because of what his parents did. he's ignored and pushed around and that's what a bunch of teenagers got though now.
Favorite character: ADRIAN. His wit is priceless, and even though he has a tough, i-don't-give-a-crap exterior, he's actually a really caring person, as shown through his relationship with Jill. He also, in my opinion, deals with the ramifications of Spirit splendidly, all things considered. He's just great :)
I really like Jill in the first VA books, but I think I have to go with Christian because he was awesome, and I loved his relationship with Rose. They were so badass fighting together! And with eachother.
My favourite secondary character from VA is.. Mia! I love her attitude (After she stopped being mean of course!) And how she bounced back from everything that happened!
My favorite secondary character from Vampire Academy is Mason, up until he died of course.. :'( I really liked his sense of humor and how he never stopped showing his affection for Rose, even though he was turned down so many times.
My favorite character in both series is Adrian. He started in VA as one of those characters you expected to be a one time deal and not show up in another book, but then he makes himself important and eventually becomes the main male character in Bloodlines.
My favorite secondary characters in VA are Christian and Adrian, they're so hillarious together, by themselves and with Rose. I always loved the way they interacted with Rose and with each other, amazing relationship. Always lmao whenever the three of them appeared ^_^
My favourite charachter in VA is Adrian because in my imagination he is that bad boy who still cares so much for Rose and he has great ability to inter the dreams
Sophie just because "[Sophie] was glad she had been scarred, She said that whoever loved her now would love her true self, and not her pretty face." or perhaps it was this quote "It's alright to love someone who doesn't love you back as long as they are worthy of you loving them, as long as they deserve it."
Magnus is always my favorite secondary character, whether TMI or TID. I could not stop laughing after the debaucle between he, Camille and Will. That was priceless.
My favorite secondary character is Magnus! In both series you come to love him and his wittiness! And the fact that he was willing to help Will break his 'curse' even though he didn't really want to was amazingly kind of him! However, at the end of Clare's most recent installment to TMI, I was about ready to kill him, because of his whole thing with Alec. But none the less, I still love him :)
I'll be honest and say i haven't red the series yet because my mom hasn't given me her copy of the books yet! i can't wait to read them tho. i have heard only good things!
Magnus Bane! He's amazing, he's a warlock and he crosses from Infernal Devices into Mortal Insturments! There's so much depth to his character - Cassandra Clare is simply genius.
My favourite side character has to be Henry! I just think he tries so hard and is so sweet! He knows what people think of him and only worries if it hurts Charlotte, he is an absolute sweetheart!
I actually love Sophie, she is so great and strong and determined, nothing like the usual servant! I really like the relationship she's building with Gideon and I can't wait to read how the story is going to end :')
Vampire Academy, hands down. Rose Hathaway is one of the most bad-A heroines in ya, and Richellemcan do steamy-but-not-smutty romance like no one's business.
Okay I don't think I really have a favourite vampire series...but The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice was probably the first series about vampires that I loved...Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
My favorite non-spoiler part in Under the Never Sky had to be the entire concept of the Aether storm. I've never heard about it before and thought about it before. Oooh and I think that you should definitely review The Fault in Our Stars by John Green :D
ReplyDeleteThat's actually one of the reviews coming up in a few weeks.
DeleteYESSSS :) I still need to read it. It's sitting on my shelf but because November is the month from hell for college I haven't gotten the chance to read it. Hopefully I read it before you review it! In any event, I'll be sure to read your thoughts! :D
DeleteI love the storms and agree this is a great concept. People can think of different ways it can form and they way it looks while they are reading it.
DeleteI haven't read the book so can not make a comment on it
DeleteMy fav part was everything but the ending! And book to review Redemption by Susannah Sandlin
ReplyDeleteFavorite parts: Aria and Perry!!! Book you should review: Souls in Peril ;}}
ReplyDeleteIt's not really a part, but I love the idea of living through virtual reality and being able to go anywhere.
ReplyDeleteI recommend ReVamped and ReAwakened by Ada Adams if you like vampires. :)

DeleteMy favorite part was when they were at Marros.
ReplyDeleteBooks to read: Rising and the sequel, Resistance by Stephanie Judice. Excellent paranormal romance
My favorite aspect of Under The Never Sky is how the advanced technology seems so far from the harshness of the outside world. There's a whole lot of unknown and mystery surrounding both groups and I'm excited to see how the story continues!

ReplyDeleteAgreed. It was hard trying to think of your favorite part when the whole book was awesome.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part includes any scene that has perry in it. Seriously, he's sweet and open and a far cry from the jerks you usually find reading a YA novel.

ReplyDeleteBtw your giveaways are awesome! Thank you for doing them :)
Puck was my favourite part of the series. Every scene he was in, every line he spoke. He was perfect.

I'm an Abe fan - he's somewhat creepy and yet caring. And his fashion sense makes me laugh.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway.
I love Abe....you can tell he really cares about Rose, but on the other hand, he's got a evil streak.
ReplyDeleteHi Zach, awesome giveaway this is :D
ReplyDeleteUm..my favorite character is Abe. He is such a complex and cool character. I really like it when he's around. But my favorite character all over is ADRIAN. Oh, how I loves him!! <3
I haven't read the book yet but it's on my reading list. All I need to do is find more hours in the day, hehehe.
ReplyDeleteI love Abe. Both his personality and his fashion sense.
ReplyDeleteAlthough he is more amain character now,I have always loved Adrian and his sharp wit. He has so many classic one liners it's hard not to like him
ReplyDeletemy favorite side/secondary character in the vampire academy series is christian! he's so badass , sarcastic and witty. i like people who can continuously make me laugh and that's what he did. he acts all tough and like he doesn't care about anything but deep down he really is such a nice sweet guy who just wants to be accepted by the other moroi who judge him because of what his parents did. he's ignored and pushed around and that's what a bunch of teenagers got though now.
ReplyDeleteFavorite character: ADRIAN. His wit is priceless, and even though he has a tough, i-don't-give-a-crap exterior, he's actually a really caring person, as shown through his relationship with Jill. He also, in my opinion, deals with the ramifications of Spirit splendidly, all things considered. He's just great :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite secondary character is Christian. He has those witty remarks and that sarcasm that just steals your attention :)
ReplyDeleteI would have to say Christian! He's so snarky and funny. I like how he's not afraid to say what he wants.
ReplyDeleteI really like Jill in the first VA books, but I think I have to go with Christian because he was awesome, and I loved his relationship with Rose. They were so badass fighting together! And with eachother.
ReplyDeleteAdrian because he is so funny and I just love him so much!
ReplyDeleteMy favourite secondary character from VA is.. Mia! I love her attitude (After she stopped being mean of course!) And how she bounced back from everything that happened!
ReplyDeleteI like a lot of the spin off
ReplyDeleteMy favorite secondary character from Vampire Academy is Mason, up until he died of course.. :'( I really liked his sense of humor and how he never stopped showing his affection for Rose, even though he was turned down so many times.
ReplyDeleteMy Favorite secondary character is janine from VA.She is such a kickass and fierce:D plus she's one of the best guards around!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite character in both series is Adrian. He started in VA as one of those characters you expected to be a one time deal and not show up in another book, but then he makes himself important and eventually becomes the main male character in Bloodlines.

ReplyDeleteMy favorite secondary characters in VA are Christian and Adrian, they're so hillarious together, by themselves and with Rose. I always loved the way they interacted with Rose and with each other, amazing relationship. Always lmao whenever the three of them appeared ^_^
ReplyDeleteMy favourite charachter in VA is Adrian because in my imagination he is that bad boy who still cares so much for Rose and he has great ability to inter the dreams
ReplyDeleteMy favorite secondary character in ID is Charlotte because she is tiny but ballsy, and I am tiny and would like to be ballsy :D
ReplyDeleteMagnus, of course!
ReplyDeleteHenry is my favourite side character because he's almost like never there even though he is. If you know what I mean XD
ReplyDeleteI would say Charlotte because she's so kickass and funny!
ReplyDelete♥ Karielle @ Books à la Mode
Haven't read the Infernal Devices yet :( But I will really quick.
ReplyDeleteAw, I'm gonna go with Henry! He needs more love. :D Though honestly, I haven't read the series since CP came out, so I'm a bit foggy...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway.
Sophie just because "[Sophie] was glad she had been scarred, She said that whoever loved her now would love her true self, and not her pretty face." or perhaps it was this quote "It's alright to love someone who doesn't love you back as long as they are worthy of you loving them, as long as they deserve it."
ReplyDeleteHenry because he's so sweet and naive and everybody doesn't seem to pay him enough attention
ReplyDeleteMagnus, of course:) He is so strong but very vulnerable as well!
ReplyDeleteI love him!
My favorite side/secondary character in the Infernal Devices series is Charlotte because she is so strong!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the international giveaway.
Rafflecopter name : Rose Lennart
My favorite secondary character in ID is Henry because he's so naive ,and mostly because he's almost like never there even though he is ! :)
ReplyDeleteHi! My favorite side/secondary character in TID is Henry! I love him, he is so kind and tolerant and of course he is such a great inventor XD
ReplyDeleteMagnus is always my favorite secondary character, whether TMI or TID. I could not stop laughing after the debaucle between he, Camille and Will. That was priceless.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite secondary character is Magnus!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite secondary character is definitely Magnus! Magnus is just so awesome and he always manages to make me laugh.
ReplyDeleteI'll be honest and say i haven't red the series yet because my mom hasn't given me her copy of the books yet! i can't wait to read them tho. i have heard only good things!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite secondary character is Henry. He's always catchin' stuff on fire.
ReplyDeleteMagnus Bane! He's amazing, he's a warlock and he crosses from Infernal Devices into Mortal Insturments! There's so much depth to his character - Cassandra Clare is simply genius.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite side character has to be Henry! I just think he tries so hard and is so sweet! He knows what people think of him and only worries if it hurts Charlotte, he is an absolute sweetheart!
ReplyDeleteI love, love, LOVE Will!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSide character: Magnus.. very entertaining.
ReplyDeleteI actually love Sophie, she is so great and strong and determined, nothing like the usual servant! I really like the relationship she's building with Gideon and I can't wait to read how the story is going to end :')
ReplyDeleteThanks for this awesome giveaway!
Magnus Bane :D
ReplyDeleteMagnus definitely! There is just so much to him!!
ReplyDeleteColleen Gleason's Gardella Vampire series.
ReplyDeleteThe only other vampire only one I've read it Twilight, LOL! I really enjoyed Day Soldiers by Brandon Hale, tho, it's a mix of Vampire and dystopian.
ReplyDeleteAnita Blake series by Laurell K Hamilton
ReplyDeletei have enjoyed reading chicagoland vampire series by chloe neill and also morganville vampires series by rachel caine
ReplyDeleteI have to say The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteVampire Academy, hands down. Rose Hathaway is one of the most bad-A heroines in ya, and Richellemcan do steamy-but-not-smutty romance like no one's business.
ReplyDeleteOkay I don't think I really have a favourite vampire series...but The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice was probably the first series about vampires that I loved...Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love Bloodlines by Richelle Mead, BDB by J.R. Ward and Argeneau by Lynsay Sands. Thank you for the giveaway! :)
